The Daily Mail are reporting that Arsenal and Manchester United have completed the deals required that will see Alexis Sanchez join Jose Mourinho with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way.
Although the deals are unlikely to be announced until Monday – Arsenal don’t like to announce anything until it is 100% complete and that includes FA registration – it seems as if this saga has finally come to an end.
Alexis was set to be included in the Arsenal matchday squad for the game against Palace but some have speculated that this was simply a ruse to get United/Alexis/his agent to hurry up and get the deal done.
Alexis has not yet completed a medical which is believed to be taking place this evening when he meets up with United’s medical staff upon their return from Turf Moor.
Wenger confirmed that Alexis missed the game against Palace because he was “travelling up north”. “Expect soon or never,” said Mourinho after his side’s win at Burnley.
Mkhitaryan is expected to become Arsenal’s highest earner.
