Manchester City have dropped their interest in Alexis Sanchez after Manchester United offered considerably more money than their £60m summer deal, according to David Ornstein.
Since the summer, everyone was convinced that Alexis would end up a Man City player one way or another. Yet, things have taken a dramatic turn as Manchester United are suddenly the favourites to sign him.
According to David Ornstein, City are unwilling to meet the financial demands of Arsenal and Alexis and will end their interest. That leaves United a clear path to sign him.
They will apparently pay more in transfer fee, wages and agent fees than the £60m City were willing to spend in the summer.
Man City pull out of race to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, based on current numbers demanded by #AFC + AS. #MCFC believe they were 1st choice but that Man U offering package higher than City would’ve paid in £60m deal last summer. It’s also possible that Chelsea will make a late attempt to sign the Chilean. While selling Alexis to United or Chelsea is terrible, at least the club will get some good money out of it.
They may even get a player out of the deal as well, if reports are to be believed. It seems are moving along at a decent pace now. Hopefully, it won’t be long before this saga comes to an end, and we can all move on with our lives.
