Arsenal reportedly face competition for Novara winger, Alessio Da Cruz, from Liverpool and Parma.

Arsenal have been linked with Alessio Da Cruz since November and now they reportedly face competition from not only Premier League rivals Liverpool but Serie B side Parma as well.

In fact, the 20-year-old is allegedly set for a medical with Parma today (Monday).

Considering the winger’s current team Novara are also in Serie B, perhaps the switch is easier.

Just before Christmas, the Gunners’ head of international recruitment Francis Cagigao was photographed sitting down with a man believed to be one of Da Cruz’s two representatives, Giorgio Boateng and Menno Groenveld. Obviously nothing appears to have arisen from the meeting.

Da Cruz continues to impress for Novara, who he has a contract with until June 2020.

The Dutchman has scored five goals and provided two assists in 19 Serie B appearances.

He’s only been in Italy since July 2017 when he signed from FC Twente after spending a season on loan at FC Dordrecht.

While it’s understandable that Da Cruz might want to move on to bigger and better things, as Parma are higher in the Serie B table than Novara, you also wouldn’t blame him for wanting to stay still for five minutes if a move doesn’t go ahead.
