The German media believe that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has no future at Borussia Dortmund.

On Sunday morning, Sport1 were discussing Aubameyang and, like most people keeping up-to-date with the story, the German football experts have come to the conclusion that the 28-year-old has no future at Dortmund.

Fans are said to be blaming the club’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke, sporting director Michael Zorc and manager Peter Stöger for the current mess the Bundesliga club have found themselves in.

Although Aubameyang has always been seen as a character in Germany after his move from St. Etienne in 2013, his behaviour over the last 12 months has grown increasingly rebellious.

The Gabon international has repeatedly turned up to training late and even missed a team meeting earlier this month, which led Stöger to suspend him for Dortmund’s clash against Wolfsburg.

Zorc said the club ‘weren’t used to’ this attitude from Aubameyang’s and, right on cue, rumours over the 28-year-old’s move to Arsenal kicked off.

“At some point you can’t tolerate it [lack of discipline from Aubameyang] anymore,” Zorc said two weeks ago.

“I don’t know what’s going on inside his head. We had a very contentious discussion today. We’re not used to this behaviour from him. It can’t go on like this.”

The player was then left out of Dortmund’s game against Hertha because he wasn’t focused enough.

At this point, Aubameyang could probably have apologised for his behaviour and salvaged some sort of relationship with the German club. However, the striker made sure to burn his bridges by wearing an Ousmane Dembélé shirt while playing an indoor football match.

Dembélé forced a move from Dortmund to Barcelona over the summer, so Aubameyang was definitely trying to make a statement.

Dortmund’s fans made their displeasure at the striker’s actions known on Saturday afternoon by booing him and displaying banners during his lacklustre performance against Freiburg.

As Sport1 say, Aubameyang has no future at Dortmund.

It doesn’t take an expert to see that.
