Arsenal have arguably had some of the best footballers to ever don a football shirt, but who would you pick as the ultimate Arsenal starting XI?

With some of the greatest strikers to ever grace the football field, along with wingers and midfielders who’d have been able to walk straight into anyone’s first team, we struggled. But, we’ve managed to put down who we think should be included below. What do you think?

David Seaman

A legendary goalkeeper who was always full of energy and oozed motivation from between the posts.

Not only that, his all-round keeper skills often kept Arsenal in games and frustrated many an opposition striker. Hence his self-proclaimed nickname ’Safe Hands’, which was quickly adopted by many of his supporters.

Dennis Bergkamp

Aarriving in the mid-90s, he soon adapted and crafted his own style that many a striker emulated afterwards.

His dedication to training and fitness ensured he was at his ultimate fitness and skill levels come each match.

Many have said his approach helped to change the lifestyle of many a footballer and led to the game moving forward in to what the modern game is today.

Thierry Henry

Loved and adored by every Arsenal fan who got to see him play, and by those who were never fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of this talented, French forward.

During his career at Arsenal he managed to claim the prestigious and valiant title of the clubs top goal scorer.

Hardly surprising considering the effort he put in, week in week out.

His pace drove him passed defenders and his scoring prowess made him capable of turning the ball in from almost impossible angles.

Cliff Bastin

Bastin joined Arsenal just before the second world war and held the title of record goal scorer well into the 90s before Ian Wright took the title away from him.

Bastin was famed for his speed and cool goal scoring skills, along with excellent link up play with his fellow forwards.

There are some old and new players in this starting XI but how’d they gel in today’s age of ‘modern’ football is anyone’s guess.
