Former Arsenal youngster Wellington Silva could soon be joining Internacional, according to reports.

Silva, who spent six years at Arsenal without making a single appearance for the club, could soon be on the move again.

According to UOL Esporte, the Brazilian could be involved in a swap deal with Internacional, who will be sending Eudardo Sasha the other way to Fluminese.

They report that Silva and Sasha will join their new clubs initially on loan, who will then have the option to make the move permanent.

There was some confusion surrounding Silva’s future during the summer transfer window. Arsenal had a buyback clause that was reportedly worth £1.5m, which they attempted to activate.

The plan was to re-sign the Brazilian, who they had allowed to join his former club Fluminese in 2016, and then sell him to Bordeaux for £3m. However, the 24-year-old failed his medical with the French club due to an inflamed pubis, and subsequently returned to Brazil.

It’s unknown if this clause still exists, or what will happen should Silva join another club. UOL Esporte’s report does not mention any further involvement with Arsenal.

Silva joined the Gunners in 2010 and spent time on loan at Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia, Almeria and Bolton before returning to Brazil last year.
