Valencia have decided to wait until the summer to sign Theo Walcott as they have other targets in mind for January according to reports.

Walcott had been linked with a move to Valencia in the January transfer window, but the Spanish’s club’s plans have reportedly changed.

That’s according to El Gol Digital, who claim that while Valencia are still interested in the forward, they will prioritise the signing of Atletico Madrid striker, Kevin Gameiro, in January.

As a result, any pursuit of Walcott may have to wait until the summer.

Walcott hasn’t started a single Premier League game this season due to a combination of poor form, illness and injury.

Despite that, Arsene Wenger has said he doesn’t want to sell him mid-season even though he has clearly had enough of the speedster.

With 18 months remaining on his current Arsenal contract, it feels as if his time at the club is winding down.

On top of Valencia’s interest there is also interest from the Premier League.

West Ham, Southampton and Everton are thought to be keen on signing him.

Walcott has scored four goals in 11 appearances for Arsenal this season.

Three of those goals have come in the Europa League, all against BATE Borisov.

Provided he’s fit and healthy, he should make an appearance against West Ham in the Carabao Cup in mid-week.
