Arda Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut has caused the internet to go crazy by posting a picture of the pair on the streets of London, as rumours of a possible move to Arsenal surround the player.

Bulut uploaded the photo to his Instagram account on Saturday, during the match between Barcelona and Celta Vigo, causing speculation as to why Turan was in London, instead of in Spain watching his team.

Marca report that the Gunners could consider a swap deal with Barcelona, with Mesut Özil going one way and Turan going the other, so this is the most popular theory for the Turkish international’s presence in the English capital. There are doubts, however, that Barcelona are actually interested in Ozil.

Agent confirms Turan to leave Barcelona

After the image sparked a frenzy on the internet, Bulut then clarified that the player would indeed leave Barcelona in January.

He reportedly said“It’s not clear right now where he is going but he will leave from Barcelona in January.

“We’re talking with three or four teams from Spain, Italy and England. There is no contact with Galatasaray. After 15 days we’ll make a final decision. There are two options: he will be sold or loaned.”

Turan, who turns 31 in January, is currently out of the Barcelona team with injury, so he could just as easily be visiting a doctor in London or doing some Xmas shopping. Bulut gave no clues as to actual the purpose of their trip despite his statement.

Arda still has another two-and-a-half years left on his contract and it is believed that Barcelona are happy to let him leave.

Last season Turan contributed a goal or assist once every 92 minutes on average, so when he’s fit, he certainly brings something to their team.

Arsenal will need a player like that if Özil ends up leaving, but given Turan’s age and injury problems, I’m yet to be convinced that the Gunners are after him or that it would in any way negate the loss of Mesut.
