Arsenal have agreed a £35.3m deal to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet El Gol write that the Gunners have agreed a transfer worth £32.61m, plus an additional £2.64m in bonuses, for the defensive-midfielder.

Last week, Sevilla president Jose Castro denied there had been any offers for the Frenchman, but it appears Arsenal may have made a breakthrough.

N’Zonzi hopes to leave in the winter window, as he admitted that his future is clearly elsewhere than in Seville, having fallen out with the club in recent weeks.

There were reports he’d travelled to London to negotiate with the Gunners, but those turned out to be false, as he’d only come over to visit his son.

The 28-year-old has missed five Sevilla matches in a row, after being dropped from the squad due to a fallout with management in November.

Rumours of a deal with Arsenal being done may be premature, but it seems clear N’Zonzi will be on the move in January regardless. So if the Gunners are interested, now would be the time to act.
