Steven N’Zonzi has rubbished rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal after he was spotted in London.

N’Zonzi was reported to be in London amid rumours that he was close to agreeing a deal with Arsenal.

However, the French midfielder has clarified why he was there, and that his visit had nothing to do with transfers.

“It is complete rubbish. I am currently in London, but it has absolutely nothing to do with a transfer, not even to do with football. I came to see my son who lives here and to spend time with him. You see, it is not about signing for Arsenal or anywhere else,” he told France Football (via Get French Football News).

N’Zonzi is reportedly on the verge of leaving Sevilla after he fell out with his manager Eduardo Berizzo.

He hasn’t been included in any Sevilla squad since he was taken off at half-time in the 3-3 draw against Liverpool in the Champions League last month.

Arsenal were linked with him during the summer, but rumours escalated when he announced that his future would be away from Sevilla.

Everton have also been strongly linked with the midfielder.

N’Zonzi has a £35m release clause in his contract after signing a one year extension during the summer.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has also quelled the rumours, saying on Thursday that they had received no offers for N’Zonzi.

N’Zonzi joined Sevilla in 2015 and was a regular in the side that went on to win the Europa League in 2016.
