Birmingham City and Norwich City reportedly want to sign Krystian Bielik in January, if the Polish defender can recover from injury in time.

The Express write that the two Championship clubs are planning to make a move for the 19-year-old in the winter window.

Although the report doesn’t mention whether the deal would be a loan or a permanent transfer, I don’t think the Gunners are looking to sell on such a young and promising player just yet.

Norwich were reportedly close to a loan deal for Bielik over the summer, but he suffered a shoulder injury keeping him out for three months.

Bielik just recently returned from that injury, playing a couple of games with the u23s.

However, during the second match against Derby on Friday, the former Legia Warsaw man became injured again late on, so at this stage it’s unclear whether he’ll be fit for a transfer.

If he is fit, the centre-back should be keen on a move back to the Championship, considering he said last season that he’d like to stay in the division longer.

From an Arsenal point of view, it would just be good to get the youngster fit and playing again, whichever club it’s for.
