Arsenal are reportedly planning to prioritise Reiss Nelson’s development over making a move for Chelsea youngster, Charly Musonda Jr.

No sooner had Arsenal allegedly contacted Chelsea about signing Musonda, it’s being reported that they’re actually going to focus on Nelson for the time being.

Musonda has apparently asked to leave Chelsea because he’s unhappy of his lack of playing time.

The 21-year-old has made just four first team appearances for the Blues since signing for their youth side in 2012 and it appears the winger is sick and tired of not being appreciated. Therefore, he’s supposedly stamped his foot and asked to leave, which makes sense seeing as he’s been threatening to for a while.

Arsenal have been linked but it seems, if the report’s true, that the club believes that 17-year-old Nelson is a far better option and our energy would be better spent helping to develop our existing prospect than on the stroppy Belgium international.

Nelson has featured six times for the Gunners’ first team this season and is one of the young players coming through the ranks that fans are really excited about.

Why bring in Musonda, who allegedly turned down a loan move in the summer, when we already have a brilliant winger in our midst?
