Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants a reunion with Arsenal and Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil, according to latest reports from Spain.

Ozil is out of contract in the summer and could sign with anyone he likes, including, much to everyone’s disappointment, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

According to Don Balon, Mourinho is keen to sign Ozil. The German is apparently unhappy at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger, and would strengthen United’s squad without the need of a transfer fee.

Don Balon also add that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez still really likes Ozil and believes he would be a good signing for United. It’s this sort of information that makes them such a highly respected source of news.

Ozil played under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and arguably had his best period as a player, in my opinion. He won the La Liga title under him, and had the opportunity to provide assists for top forwards such as Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

I believe him moving to United makes a disturbing amount of sense for him and the club. He’d reunite with a manager he likes, would strengthen their squad and, simultaneously, weaken ours.

Arsenal haven’t held contract discussions with Ozil since last March, and look set to lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
