Rafinha’s father, Mazinho, claims that neither he or his son have spoken to any other clubs amid reported interest from Arsenal and AC Milan.

Mazinho has been speaking with Marca amid claims that his son, Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, is in talks with other clubs.

“The important thing is for him to get well,” Mazinho said.

“Our main concern right now is for him to recover and to be able to return to the football pitch.

“We have not spoken with anybody because it’s difficult to negotiate with other clubs when a player is injured.

“Furthermore, we’ve not had any interest.

“We have a contract with Barcelona.”

Rafinha is currently recovering from a long-term knee injury, which has kept him sidelined since April. Therefore, it’s understandable that the 24-year-old probably hasn’t had any contact with other clubs.

Until he suffered his knee injury, he’d scored seven goals and assisted five in 28 appearances for the Catalan giants.

The Brazil international has come through the ranks at Barca but is allegedly surplus to Ernesto Valverde’s requirements.

Over the summer, Rafinha was linked with a move to AC Milan but obviously this never happened. He’s also been linked with Arsenal.

The midfielder currently has just under three years left on his current deal with Barca. However, considering he made 14 starts (four subs) in La Liga last term before his injury, it’s understandable that he feels his future lies elsewhere. He only started once in the Champions League and only finished a handful of games in the league.

As much as he may love the club he grew up at, he obviously wants to be starting every game and finishing them as well.
