Arsenal and Manchester United are both reportedly keen on Santos wonderkid, Yuri Alberto.

According to the Sun, Arsenal and United have been in contact with Alberto’s agent and are both keen on a move for the 16-year-old.

The Santos striker is valued at £37.5m – a pretty penny for such a young player – even if he has scored a 51 goals in 35 youth matches last season.

A source told the Sun:

“He is the new star of Brazilian football. He is very exciting and a lot of teams are looking at him.

“United and Arsenal are very keen on Yuri. They watched him when Brazil played in England earlier this year.

“He has great technique and an eye for goal. The reports across the board have been positive about him.

“His agent has been contacted and told by both the Premier League clubs they will be watching him over the coming months.”

Interestingly, this rumour seems to be more or less exactly the same as one that has been circulating for a while. In fact, United and Arsenal have been linked with the teenager since April.

What’s more, a source apparently told the Sun (via Metro) that the Red Devils and Gunners had been in contact with Alberto’s agent earlier in October. Therefore, this does seem a tad recycled.

I’m sure the Brazil u17 international is very talented – you’d have to be to reach that goal tally in one season – but it’s getting a little bit boring being consistently told the same thing.

A host of other European clubs have been linked.

Inter, AC Milan, Roma along with a number of Spanish sides are also apparently interested.
