Arsenal and Manchester United are both reportedly after Santos FC youngster Yuri Alberto.

  • In 2016 Yuri scored 51 goals in 36 appearances
  • Yuri has represented Brazil at a youth level

According to Sport Witness, who have confirmed a report originally by UOL, the 16-year-old defender has caught the Gunners’ attention with his impressive development.

The Brazilian teenage is said to be negotiating a new deal with Santos but considering he’s so young, he’s not signed a professional deal yet, meaning that whoever wants to sign him has to pay Santos compensation for the time they’ve spent developing him.

Santos often promote players from their youth sides, which is why European sides tend to keep an eye on them.

The youngster’s goal tally, 51 goals in 36 appearances, is impressive and he’s also broken the State Championship’s record of goals scored in the competitions with 36, which was previously held by Atletico Madrid midfielder Diego who scored 31 back in 2000.

Roma are also said to be interested as Arsenal and Manchester United hover.
