Julian Draxler could reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Draxler was allegedly holding out for a move to Barcelona all summer after PSG signed Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The French press claimed that the former Wolfsburg winger wasn’t wanted by his new Ligue 1 club.

Although Arsenal were apparently at the top of the list of Premier League clubs interested in signing the ‘want-a-way’ star, Spanish outlet, Mundo Deportivo [via Sport Witness], claim that the 23-year-old instructed his agent to stall the English clubs so that he could wait and see if Barca came forward.

The La Liga giants weren’t interested but by the time this became clear, it was too late for Draxler to go anywhere.

Therefore, it’s thought that Arsenal could move for the winger in January, as Arsene Wenger has openly been a fan of his for years. Whether he actually will or not is another matter.

While the report insists that Draxler is surplus to requirements at PSG, his agent claimed during the summer that he wasn’t going anywhere. The Germany international only signed from Wolfsburg in January for goodness sake and has impressed, making 28 appearances and scoring 10 goals.

Draxler has four years left on his current deal with PSG and while he would only apparently cost around £35m, it’s still doubtful that the Ligue 1 giants do indeed want to sell him so quickly.

Also, Arsenal hardly ever make big signings in the winter window. Wenger is notoriously against it as he believes you should use the mid-point of the season to work on your existing players, not buy new ones.
