Young Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer is close to joining Fenerbahce on loan, according to latest reports.

The 19-year-old is highly-rated at Arsenal and could be on the verge of a temporary move to a club playing in the Europa League next season. Reports in Algeria say Fenerbahce are close to securing the move.

Bennacer spent time on loan at Ligue 2 side Tours last season, making 16 appearances. The central midfielder signed for Arsenal in 2015 from French club Arles and was a regular in the Gunners’ youth teams before heading out on loan.

A French-born midfielder, Bennacer won his first cap for Algeria last September and is pushing closer to a breakthrough at Arsenal.

Fenerbahce are in this season’s Europa League and currently playing in the third qualifying round against Austrian team Sturm Graz. They have a 2-1 lead from the first leg.

A season on loan at one of Turkey’s biggest club and the opportunity to play in Europe could be a big step in his development.

Bennacer made his first-team debut for Arsenal in a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup back in 2015. He came on as an early substitute for the injured Theo Walcott, who had already come on for the injured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
