Arsenal legend Robert Pires has been showing that he hasn’t lost his footballing talent at the Star Sixes event in London.
The six-a-side event took place on Sunday, July 16 and Pires was the captain of the French side that eventually emerged victorious.
But one moment, tweeted out by an Arsenal fan, had everyone rolling back the years to when Bobby would embarrass defenders on a weekly basis.
Pires showed the ball to Carlos Puyol, waited for him to commit, then skipped past him effortlessly while the Spaniard was left sprawled on the floor.
He then raced up the other end of the pitch, and in typical Arsenal fashion squared it for a tap-in. The full clip can be seen below:

It’s no surprise Pires is still capable of this sort of thing. He showed in the Arsenal legends match last September, combining with Freddie Ljungberg to score against Milan Glorie.
He might have lost some of his pace and fitness, now aged 43, but his sense of timing and knowing when to stop and just let someone slide past clearly hasn’t left him yet.
