Real Betis are reportedly interested in taking Lucas Perez on loan but Arsenal only want to sell.
- Lucas stays in London as Arsenal squad jet to Australia for pre-season tour
- Chances of Perez returning to Deportivo is “remote”
- Arsenal want £12.4m for Perez
- Betis want Lucas on loan
- Gunners pushing for permanent switch
Betis have allegedly contacted Arsenal about taking Lucas on loan next season.
However, the Gunners are only willing to sell and, despite claims on Tuesday that Arsene Wenger’s side were only asking for £12.4m for the forward, Estadio Deportivo insists that they’re demanding £17.5m.
Pretty much what Arsenal paid Deportivo for the Spaniard last year.
The 28-year-old, who wants a move in order to get more playing time ahead of the World Cup next year, has been left in London while the rest of the Arsenal squad embark on their pre-season tour in Australia, prompting further speculation that the forward is indeed leaving very soon.
Other clubs said to be interested in Lucas are Espanyol, Fenerbahce, Sevilla, and Malaga.
His former team, Deportivo, were also linked but have now said that a return for their man is looking unlikely.
The general issue that seems to keep arising is the fact that no one wants to sign Lucas permanently, they just want him on loan, but Arsenal only want to sell.
