Arsene Wenger insists that he’s still feeling positive over Alexis Sanchez signing a new deal with Arsenal.

Wenger claims that he still feels positive over Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal and revealed that he’s been texting the Chilean while he’s away on his summer holidays.

“Of course (he will remain an Arsenal player),” the Frenchman said.

“There is not a lot to resolve with the player. I have spoken through text and it was very positive. My thoughts are always positive.”

Alexis is currently on his summer holiday after his involvement in the Confederations Cup.

It does seems as if the forward will be returning to north London despite being linked with Bayern Munich and then Manchester City since the end of the 2016/17 season.

Wenger has always said that the 28-year-old will stay at Arsenal for at least the final year of his contract and the manager seems to be holding true to his word.

Although Alexis could leave for free next year, the boss also seems convinced that he’ll extend his deal.
