Monaco midfielder, Fabinho, is reportedly set to sign for Manchester United in the coming days.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Fabinho this summer.

Not only are they apparently interested in him, but the player has made it clear that Jose Mourinho is a manager he’d like to work under, telling ESPN Brazil, “I would also like to work with great managers to learn more about football, learn new things. Mourinho, too. He is an excellent manager. No doubt.”

According to Italian reporter, Emanuele Giulianelli, the deal is set to go ahead in the coming days, which means that Arsenal are set to ‘miss out’ on another Monaco star.

While Giulianelli, who writes for Tribal Football, is pretty unreliable when it comes to Arsenals stories, the Fabinho-to-United rumours are being widely reported.

The Brazil international even told FourFourTwo [via Metro], “My objective is to get to a club with the dimension of Manchester United.

“I have no clue if one day I’ll be a United player, but I’ll keep on working so it stops being a rumour and becomes reality.”

Giulianelli claims that the main reason why the Red Devils will sign the 23-year-old is because no one else will (bit harsh). However, he does still have four years left on his current deal in France so it’s doubtful that the Ligue 1 side are desperate to sell him right now.

Last season, the defensive midfielder was a huge part of Monaco’s first team, making 55 appearances, scoring 12 goals and assisting six.
