Nice president, Jean-Pierre Rivere, has confirmed that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in rumoured Arsenal target, Jean Michael Seri.

Seri, who’s also been linked with Tottenham, has reportedly been on Arsenal’s radar for a while now. However, the Gunners face competition for the Nice central midfielder in the form of Barcelona and PSG.

Apparently, the Catalans see Seri as a decent alternative to PSG’s Marco Verratti, who has been identified as one of Barca’s main summer transfer targets.

Speaking to Radio Montecarlo recently, Jean-Pierre Rivere admitted that both PSG and Barcelona are after the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international.

“We do not want to sell and we do not need to sell, but some players will march and others will come,” Rivere said.

“We have rejected the offer of Rome because it was too low for Seri. We have not received offers, but Barça and PSG are hot tracks.”

Last season, Seri scored seven goals and assisted nine in 34 Ligue 1 appearances, and was a huge part of Nice’s title campaign, in which they finished third.

The player seems open to leaving but only for first team football.

“There are a lot of clubs that follow me. But there is nothing done,” Seri said.

“If I leave, it will be to join a club where there is a real desire to play football as in Nice.

“And I’m not going to be on the bench, I’m leaving only if I know I’m going to play.”
