Liverpool have reportedly had an £88m bid for Kylian Mbappe rejected by Monaco.
- Arsenal previously had £95m bid turned down
- Liverpool make much lower bid
- Arsene Wenger brings the personal touch to Mbappe saga
- Arsenal quoted £130m for Mbappe
Despite Monaco allegedly demanding that Arsenal pay an eye-watching £130m for 18-year-old Mbappe, Liverpool apparently decided to try their luck with a far lower offer of £88m.
Unsurprisingly, it was promptly rejected.
The Ligue 1 side have made it clear that they’re unwilling to even entertain bids under £100m. The young striker has become one of the most wanted stars in Europe right now, with Real Madrid apparently in pole position to sign him and managers left, right and centre phoning him up for a chin-wag.
In Friday’s issue of L’Equipe, Arsene Wenger was rumoured to have called Mbappe directly to try and map out the teenager’s future, while Zinedine Zidane is also said to have rung the striker in order to try and convince him that he will get regular game time if he joins Los Blancos.
Apparently, he’s even agreed to sell either Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, or Gareth Bale.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain have also decided to test the waters with a record-breaking bid of £119m.
