Reports claim that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to stay at Arsenal after the club have offered him £100k-per-week and Liverpool fans… well they’re not actually that bothered.
- The Ox to reject Liverpool and sign new Arsenal deal
- Arsenal prepare deals for Ox and Ramsey, plan Wilshere talks
- Liverpool fans unfazed by Ox snub
The Ox has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp was rumoured to be a fan.
With just one year left on his current deal in north London, it was thought that his lack of playing time earlier in the season could impact his decision to extend his time there. However, his minutes on the pitch have increased and therefore it wouldn’t make a lot of sense for Arsene Wenger to allow him to leave, especially to a rival.
Liverpool fans, who weren’t convinced by the 23-year-old’s £35m price tag, even though he’s an England international, aren’t that bothered. In fact, many of them don’t believe he’s worth paying £100k-per-week and those who do only think he is because he’s English.
“Saw this coming if Wenger stayed,” said one Reddit user. “We have better names in mind anyway, not our loss.”
While another said, “I think he’d fit well but if not getting Ox increased our chances of getting Keita im ok with this. I feel like he may have been our 2nd option if we couldn’t sign Keita.”
Another chimed in, “Would rather spend that wage budget on Kieta.”
Twitter, on the other hand, was far more passive aggressive. No surprises there.

Don't blame the Ox for staying at Arsenal. He is a first team player for them. Wouldn't start for us.

Good let him stay.. dont see how he is an improvement over any first team starter we now have ( lallana, mane or firmino)

Oh no!! But his 4 league goals a season and 2-3 months out each term could've contributed so much.
