Bayern Munich are reportedly worried that Alexis Sanchez is deliberately trying to price himself out of a move to the Bundesliga because he favours a switch to Manchester City.

  • Alexis reportedly trying to force Arsenal to sell him to City
  • City previously signed Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Kolo Toure and Bacary Sagna from Gunners
  • Guardiola reckons he can land Alexis for £300kpw
  • Chilean apparently demanding £420kpw from Bayern

Alexis has allegedly told Bayern that he wants £420k-a-week – far more than even their highest earning player, Robert Lewandowski, currently gets.

Therefore, it’s unlikely that the German giants will be able to sign the Chilean after all, despite Alexis being previously reported to prefer a move there, as it’ll absolutely destroy their wage structure.

Bayern apparently believe the 28-year-old, who the Gunners want £50m for, is doing this on purpose so that Arsenal are forced to entertain offers from Manchester City.

story trackerThere have been growing reports that Alexis wants to sign for City since Pep Guardiola was his manager at Barcelona. However, the chances of Arsenal actually selling their best player to direct rivals are slim-to-none. While it’s happened in the past, the club are in a far stronger financial position now, and don’t need the money.

The forward still has one year left on his current Arsenal deal, which Arsene Wenger insists will be fulfilled, even if Alexis doesn’t extend.
