Pep Guardiola is reportedly completely focused on signing Alexis Sanchez, not Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Alexis played under Guardiola when he was at Barcelona and apparently the Manchester City boss is keen on signing the Chilean this summer, despite Dortmund’s Aubameyang, who has three years left on his current deal, apparently being available.

City have been heavily linked with the Gabon striker, who scored 31 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season, in the past, but Guardiola has allegedly ruled out a move.

While Bayern Munich initially appeared to be the front-runners when it came to obtaining Alexis’s signature, in recent weeks, an increasing amount of stories have been emerging linking the 28-year-old to Arsenal’s Manchester rivals.

It was recently even suggested that Alexis is deliberately demanding too much money – £420k-per-week – in an attempt to price out Bayern and force the Gunners to do business with City, who he ‘only’ wants to pay him £300k-per-week.

story trackerAlexis still has a year left on his current deal in north London and Arsene Wenger, who’s always insisted that both Alexis and Mesut Ozil will be at Arsenal never season, even if they don’t extend their deals, would most likely rather allow his best player to leave for nothing next year than sell directly to a rival again.
