Borussia Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, has confirmed that the Bundesliga club are willing to listen to offers for their star striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

  • Liverpool previously linked with Aubameyang
  • 40 goals in 46 striker allowed to leave before pre-season
  • Dortmund asking for £61.6m (€70m)

If Arsenal really are on the look-out for a new striker this summer, their heads are bound to be turned by the latest news that Dortmund are willing to sell Aubameyang.

“We will listen to it when a club is willing to show its appreciation for Aubameyang in a financial way as well,” Dortmund CEO, Watzke, told Bild [via Metro].

Although the Gunners have only been vaguely linked with the Gabon striker in the past, this will most likely change now that Aubameyang has been made publicly available. Especially as Dortmund are apparently only asking for £61.6m (€70m), which is a pretty low price considering the 28-year-old scoring 40 goals in 46 appearances last season and the fact that he’s still got three years on his current deal.

Sounds too good to be true, right?

Well, the catch is that any team that wants to sign Aubameyang must do so before 26 June when Dortmund travel to Switzerland for pre-season, as the German club want adequate time to find a replacement before the season starts.

Manchester City have supposedly ruled themselves out of the chase for Aubameyang as Pep Guardiola has his heart set on Alexis Sanchez.
