Gianluigi Donnarumma has said he will restart contract talks with AC Milan, potentially leading to Juventus turning their attentions to Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny.
- Donnarumma initially announced he wouldn’t be extending with Milan
- That put Real Madrid on Juventus on alert
- Latest u-turn could see Juventus step up their pursuit of Szczesny
Donnarumma upset a number of Milan fans when he and agent Mino Raiola announced that he wouldn’t be extending his contract with AC Milan.
It seemed certain the Italian goalkeeper would exit the San Siro and join either Real Madrid or Juventus this summer. Juventus, in particular, see him as the idea long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon.
However, the player has since announced he will restart contract talks after the U21 European Championships and could yet stay at Milan as a result.
Should Donnarumma sign an extension, Juventus may step-up their pursuit of Wojciech Szczesny.
The Arsenal shot-stopper is a target for the Italian champions who reportedly offered €4m for his services – an offer far below Arsenal’s €15m asking price.
