It’s been at least five minutes since the press mentioned Arsenal’s alleged warchest and this time it’s the board apparently ordering Wenger to spend it.
According to the S*n, Stan Kroenke and co. want to see the boss bringing in a few world class targets during the summer transfer window in order to compete for the Premier League next season.
It appears that the Frenchman hasn’t wasted any time, having already reportedly made an £87m bid for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, and supposedly returned for Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez. However, the club has been in this situation before and nothing’s materialised.
The word ‘warchest’ now makes most Gooners’ eyes roll and this latest report is no different.
Actions speak louder than words and that’s what the fans need right now.
