Arsenal are reportedly keen on Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu.

  • Calhanoglu has £32m release clause with Leverkusen
  • Could be allowed to leave for as little as £21m
  • Free-kick specialist who had a hand in 11 goals in 15 appearances last season
  • Chelsea and Lazio also interested

Hakan Calhanoglu is apparently on Arsenal’s radar after impressing for Leverkusen after signing from Hamburg three years ago, and while the midfielder’s release clause is £32m, TransferMarketWeb claims that the 23-year-old could leave for as little as £21m this summer.

Calhanoglu made just 15 Bundesliga appearances last season after being slapped with a four-month ban from FIFA as punishment for a contract dispute with his boyhood club, Trabzonspor.

Still, even in his limited time on the pitch, he scored six and assisted five.

The midfielder is also known as a free-kick specialist, scoring 10.2% of his efforts, which is something that the Gunners are lacking.

The Turkey international has just two years left on his current deal with Leverkusen.

Lazio and Chelsea are also said to be interested.
