Arsenal have reportedly turned their full attention to Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette as Kylian Mbappe appears set to join Real Madrid.

  • Real were recently reported to have had a £103m bid rejected by Monaco
  • Perez claimed no bid had been made
  • Mbappe said to want Real move
  • Arsenal turn attention to Lacazette

Despite Real’s president, Florentino Perez, recently claiming that the La Liga giants hadn’t made a bid for 18-year-old Mbappe, he did admit they were interested.

Sure enough, the story that Los Blancos are close to signing the wonderkid is all over the press, and Arsenal have supposedly dropped their interest as a result.

Apparently, they believe that their lack of Champions League football next season will have a huge impact on Mbappe’s decision and don’t they believe they can compete with Real.

The Gunners are now reportedly ready to turn their full attention to Lacazette, who Lyon want £60m for, having already shown strong interest in the 26-year-old for the past two summers.

Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 appearances last season and would cost almost half of what Mbappe would.

The France international also has more experience and is already pretty much a complete player.

Not that anyone truly thought Arsenal would spend £122m on Mbappe anyway…
