Chelsea have been not to bother trying to sign Napoli winger, Lorenzo Insigne, by none other than the player’s agent.

  • Chelsea reportedly put in £45m bid, which agent says is too low
  • Winger scored 18 Serie A goals last season and tallied nine assists

Arsenal target, Lorenzo Insigne, has always maintained that he wants to stay at Napoli.

Back in March, despite being annoyed at how the Serie A side were handling his contract situation, the player still said, “I’d kill for Napoli, but if one day this dream will break, it will not only be my fault.”

The 26-year-old was said to be on his way to Chelsea last week for £45m. However, Insigne’s agent, Franco della Monica, has reiterated his client’s desire to stay with Napoli, and even suggested that the £45m the Blues were supposed to be spending on the Italian was too low.

“I would start by saying the offer reported in the S*n would be low,” the agent told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“He has always been in the sights of many clubs. The priority for Lorenzo, though, is to be wearing the Napoli shirt and be rewarded in an important way by his team. Now he has both and he is happy as well.”

Insigne has reportedly been on Arsenal’s radar this summer after the winger netted an impressive 18 Serie A goals in 37 appearances last season, as well as nine assists.
