Apparent Arsenal target, Lorenzo Insigne, is reportedly playing hardball over signing a new deal with current club Napoli.

  • Insigne has scored 14 Serie A goals this season and assisted 7
  • Winger’s pushing for better contract
  • Several top European clubs interested

The winger’s contract with the Serie A side runs out in June 2019 and the club want to tie him down for longer. In fact, after the 25-year-old was linked with Arsenal in February, the media claimed that he’d almost reached an agreement in the Naples for a contract worth £2.62m a year, excluding bonuses and add-ons, which would take him up until 2022.

This suggested that once against Arsenal’s name had been used as leverage to get a player a better deal.

However, Insigne is allegedly now pushing for even more cash and other incentives to stay at Napoli. According to Il Mattino [via the Daily Star], if they don’t provide this, he’ll look to leave in the summer.

A whole host of other European sides are said to be keeping tabs on the Italy international’s situation, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter and AC Milan.
