Yaya Sanogo, as well as Academy defenders Stefan O’Connor, Kristopher da Graca and Kostas Pileas are all set to leave Arsenal once their contracts expire at the end of June.

Sanogo, as we already covered, never managed to replicate the success that he enjoyed during his late teenage years. Injuries and a number of unsuccessful loans elsewhere across Europe saw his development stagnate dramatically after a promising start to life in north London.

As for the Academy players, this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering they’ve all been looking at opportunities to trial elsewhere.

Pileas has reportedly been on trial with Leicester City, having already been given permission to look for a club elsewhere. O’Connor endured a rough loan experience with Dutch club MVV Maastricht last season, where he didn’t start one match and only featured in a few substitute cameo appearances.

Da Graca meanwhile, has attracted interest from a range of different clubs. Crystal Palace took him on trial in April, as did Genoa, Newcastle and Swedish side BK Hacken too. Where he’ll eventually end up remains to be seen, as he revealed he’s eager for regular minutes – something that Arsenal couldn’t provide.

We wish all four players the best for the future.
