This week, reports have emerged that Robin van Persie could be signing for Crystal Palace and Arsenal fans are pretty amused.
- Van Persie could return to Premier League, but not for Arsenal
- Dutchman left Arsenal in 2012 ‘for trophies’
- Made just 31 appearances in final year for United
- Set to move to Palace this summer
After forcing a move away from north London to Arsenal’s rivals, Manchester United, in 2012, it’s fair to say that Van Persie isn’t very popular at the Emirates.
Therefore, while he did win a Premier League title with the Red Devils, when he was sold to Fenerbahce, Gooners were pretty amused at how the mighty had fallen, considering after one good season in Manchester he thought he was the best striker in the world.
After two years in the Turkish league, it looks as if the former Netherlands international could be returning to the Premier League.
This time, to Crystal Palace.
And Arsenal fans took to Twitter to have a little giggle.
Palace fans, meanwhile, are open to the idea of signing the striker but aren’t entirely convinced.
