Robin van Persie has been linked with a return to the Premier League, this time to Crystal Palace.

  • Striker has one year left on deal at Fenerbahce
  • 33-year-old is still injury-prone

The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker could be returning to the Premier League just two years after he signed for Fenerbahce.

33-year-old Van Persie’s contract with the Turkish side runs out next year and is expected to leave this summer, with Palace reportedly eyeing him up.

The ex-Dutch international’s former club, Feyenoord, who the striker left in 2004 for Arsenal, are favourites to land the striker at the moment.

Van Persie has scored 36 goals in 83 games for Fenerbahce since leaving Manchester United in 2015, where he won a Premier League title and managed to make the entire sunny side of north London despise him.

It’s oddly reassuring that despite his age, the bloke hasn’t managed to shake off those troublesome injury woes, which he seemed convinced had disappeared when he jumped ship to one of Arsenal’s biggest rivals in 2012.

Since signing for Fenerbahce, he’s spent 98 days sidelined.

Hopefully, Palace’s treatment room is fully prepped.
