Real Madrid have reportedly halted talks with Manchester United over a move for striker, Alvaro Morata.

Morata has been linked with a £61m move to Manchester United this summer after becoming increasingly unhappy with his inconsistent playing time.

However, with Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly threatening to leave Spain after being accused of tax fraud, Real have put a stop to all other negotiations, including the Red Devils’ over Morata, until the situation has been resolved one way or another.

The report comes from OK Diario director, Eduardo Inda, who, according to IBTimes, has links to Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez, and was once described by Gerard Piqué as the club’s ‘puppet’.

Arsenal were heavily linked with Morata last summer and while they’re less likely to move this year if they’re concentrating on signing Alexandre Lacazette, it’s thought that they’ll be boosted by the news that Real are stalling over a deal with United.

The 24-year-old made 43 appearances over all competitions last season, 26 of which were in La Liga. He scored 20 goals overall.

The Spain international has a contract with Real until 2021.
