Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said the club have yet to receive any offers for Alvaro Morata or James Rodriguez, potentially putting Arsenal on alert to tempt the pair to London.

  • Morata was reportedly close to joining Manchester United
  • Arsenal have been linked with Morata and Rodriguez

Reports in Spain indicated the duo were set to leave Real Madrid this summer, with Morata headed to United and Rodriguez being linked with Arsenal and Inter Milan.

However, Perez has denied receiving any offers for the two players and stressed he wants to keep the squad together.

“Real have not received any offers for Cristiano, Morata or James as some media have stated,” he said, reports ESPN.

“Our priority is to keep our current core of players, and that is why we are not going to make any movements.”

This could be mixed news for Arsenal. While Morata not moving to United would give them the opportunity to rekindle their interest, it could also mean United will look to other strikers that have also been linked with the Gunners, such as Alexandre Lacazette.

In addition, it would also imply a sizeable fee would be required to prise Morata and Rodriguez away from Madrid, something that could see the Londoners hesistant.
