Arsene Wenger has reportedly told Sead Kolasinac that he’s staying at Arsenal next season.
- Kolasinac set to sign for Arsenal on a free from Schalke
- Medical apparently completed
- AC Milan and Manchester City also interested
- Wenger allegedly told Bosnia international that he’s staying at Arsenal
- Expert says manager was wary speculation could hinder deal
The Express Sport have been talking exclusively to German football expert, Lee Price, who not only claims that Kolasinac has already had his medical at Arsenal, which we sort of already knew, but that Wenger has informed the soon-to-be-former Schalke left-back that he’s staying at Arsenal.
Apparently, this information was even part of the negotiations to secure the 23-year-old’s signature, as the Frenchman realised that uncertainty surrounding his future could put players off.
“This IS the kind of smart signing that Arsenal haven’t made for years. It is a proper, long-term investment,” Price told Express Sport.
“It was made pretty clear during negotiations that Kolasnic will be playing under Wenger next season.
“He announced that to the player and his agents, wary that speculation over his future could hinder a deal.”
Kolasinac has been linked with a move Arsenal for just over a month and while the likes of Manchester City and AC Milan have also apparently shown interest, it seems that Arsenal still have some pulling power.
Wenger’s contract with Arsenal runs out at the end of the season and with the Frenchman yet to make an announcement about his future one way or the other, most are assuming that he’s hanging around.
However, there have also been reports that he could leave if the Gunners end the season on a high by winning the FA Cup and finishing in the top four.
