Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis reportedly had a meeting in April in which the manager highlighted five key areas that Arsenal need to improve.

  • Arsenal linked with five players to fill five key areas
  • Wenger expected to sign extension after contract runs out
  • Board has already had meeting with Wenger over summer signings

Although Wenger’s future at Arsenal is uncertain, he’s apparently already sat down with the board and indicated five main areas which the Gunners need to improve upon over the summer.

According to the Telegraph, the boss reckons that the club needs to sign a striker, goalkeeper, left-back, centre-back and wide player.

The claims don’t seem that outlandish considering that Arsenal have already been heavily linked with a move for Schalke left-back, Sead Kolasinc, and Wenger’s supposedly meant to be returning to Lyon for Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners have also been linked with Monaco winger, Thomas Lemar, and Southampton centre-back, Virgil van Dijk.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Sunderland goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford. However, it’s far more likely that the 23-year-old will be going to Everton, as Wojciech Szczesny should now be returning from his loan spell at Roma.
