Mesut Ozil’s form at the minute is awful, I think we can all agree on that.

But for a player who has been under the spotlight since he arrived at Arsenal, he hasn’t done too badly.

How well has he done, you ask?

Well, since he arrived in the Premier League, no other player has created more assists than the German – and that’s taking into consideration how wasteful Arsenal can be with the countless chances he creates.

Another common criticism about him is that he’s not a big game player or, at least, he doesn’t produce in the big games.

Really?

It’s almost as if he’s completely misunderstood and the constant media narrative around him has had an impact.
