Liverpool fans have heard the rumours that Jurgen Klopp is willing to pay £35m for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and they find it pretty funny.
- Ox has featured 25 times in the league this season
- Midfielder has scored 2 and assisted 5
- Wenger claims Arsenal will offer new deal in summer
- Liverpool fans believe Arsenal’s estimation is too high
Klopp is said to be a long-time fan of the Ox and while most Liverpool fans agree that he could be a decent squad player considering he’s only 23, they’re pretty opposed to their club forking out £35m.
“I wouldn’t even take him for 25. 35 million for a bench player would be madness,” one outraged Liverpool fan said.
While another chimed in, “What are they smoking? Seriously? No but thanks no. AOC in showing in every transfer window rumours just like Turan.”
Someone else seemed on board but not for £35m.
“For £20m or thereabouts it would be a pretty good deal,” they said. “He’s very versatile, athletic and has good technical ability. Would be a great squad player for a CL team.”
The midfielder has found it hard to cement himself in Arsenal’s first team and although he has seen a tad more football since Christmas, the Ox is reportedly looking to jump ship in the summer with just one season left on his current deal.
While it would be a shame to see the England international go, it’s true that his progress has stalled over recent years. Whether this is down to injury woes, management or a combination of the two, we don’t know.
