Ismael Bennacer claims that clubs from France and Spain are interested in him but he’ll discuss his future with Arsenal at the end of the season.
- Bennacer signed for Arsenal from Arles in 2015
- Made 12 Premier League 2 appearances before joining Tours on loan
- Wants to wait until end of season before discussing future
- Claims La Liga and Ligue 1 clubs interested
Bennacer is enjoying life on loan with Tours in Ligue 2 at the moment. He’s made nine starts, 11 appearances and just scored a rather lovely free-kick at the weekend during his side’s 3-1 win over Sochaux.
However, while the 19-year-old is set to return to Arsenal at the end of the season, he doesn’t seem all that set on staying, if his recent comments to Le Buteur are anything to go by…
“Does Spain interest me? Frankly, yes! But it’s my agent that takes care of that, and for now, everything is going well,” he said.
“After that, we’ll see what will happen at the end of the season. I have various contacts, but I’m not the only one who will decide.
“We’ll talk with my club at Arsenal, my agent and my entourage regarding that question. It’s true that Ligue 1 and La Liga club are interested.”
Bennacer recently expressed his desire to go back out on loan once this spell at Tours has finished, saying, “I’d like to go back out on loan, but I’m going to go over things with Wenger in May, and it’ll be up to him to decide. Personally, I’d really like to go out on loan because at my age, I need to get as much game time as I can and not ask myself too many questions.”
The youngster, whose Arsenal contract runs out in 2019, is obviously ambitious and pushing for the first team. He seems to have the right attitude and doesn’t appear afraid of having to work for it.
