Mesut Ozil came through his cameo for Germany on Sunday night unscathed and is in contention to return to the Arsenal starting lineup this weekend.
- Mesut Ozil has missed four of Arsenal’s last nine Premier League games
- German has 9 goals and 9 assists in 31 games this season
- He recently said he would decide on his Arsenal future ‘soon’
Ozil has missed games recently for Arsenal through illness and then a calf and thigh problem (still being reported as a hamstring even though Ozil clarified the issue). After recovering from those issues, he returned to training with Germany only to pick up a back injury.
But that itself was nothing serious and he was in training ahead of the game against Azerbaijan before being introduced as a second half substitute.
City themselves have their own injury worries ahead of the game.
Kevin De Bryune returned to the club with a groin strain and has been listed as a doubt for the trip to London. Belgium manager, Roberto Martinez, however, has said that the problem is ‘minor’.
