Arsenal will reportedly demand almost £50m for Alexis Sanchez this summer according to the Evening Standard as the club get ready to sell him.

With just one year left on his contract, Alexis looks certain to leave.

Bayern Munich and Chelsea have become the latest clubs to be linked with a move for him but wherever he ends up, Arsenal are going to make sure they get a good price for him.

They believe the demand for him is so high that a bidding war should see them receive decent compensation for Alexis.

It remains to be seen if they will be able to command such a large figure for a player who is coming to the end of his contract with the club, but given the crazy prices lesser players move for, they are right to make this their starting point.

A figure around about £35m would seem like a more realistic figure, again, because of his contract status, but world-class forwards cost a premium. Arsenal will be hoping to exploit that here because an adequate replacement is likely to cost them far more.

…Arsene Wenger expects to pick up talks with the Chilean once the season is over. He still wants the player to remain at the club. Contract talks with all players at the club have been put on hold until the season is over, not just Alexis.
