Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger, have a doozy of a month ahead – does it get more important than this?
Arsenal head into April in sixth place in the Premier League about to face Manchester City who are in third.
After a 3-1 loss to West Brom before the international break and the Gunners’ last league victory coming against Hull on 11 February, Arsene Wenger is in need of a serious result if he’s going to get fans back on side.
And City aren’t the only giants Arsenal have to slay in April.
Who?
- Arsenal v Manchester City – Sunday 2 April – 4pm KO (UK time)(PL)
- Arsenal v West Ham – Wednesday 5 April – 7:45pm (PL)
- Crystal Palace v Arsenal – Monday 10 April – 8pm (PL)
- Middlesbrough v Arsenal – Monday 17 April – 8pm (PL)
- Arsenal v Manchester City – Sunday 23 April – 3pm (FA Cup)
- Arsenal v Leicester – Wednesday 26 April – 7:45pm (PL)
- Spurs v Arsenal – Sunday 30 April – 4:30pm (PL)
That’s SEVEN games in one month, including playing last season’s champions, City twice and our bitter rivals, Spurs, at White Hart Lane.
The problem is, while those types of fixtures would usually make most Gooners nervous anyway, this Arsenal team don’t even look capable of beating West Ham at the moment.
Wenger has absolutely no margin for error in what could be Arsenal’s most difficult month of the season.
I don’t envy him one bit.
