After Julian Draxler threw the cat among the pigeons by exclusively telling Bild that he wanted to leave Wolfsburg, the club have responded by confirming that they’re refusing to sell him.

The 22-year-old has made his stance on the matter incredibly clear. He feels that the Bundesliga team haven’t upheld their part of their deal and he wants a move, with various outlets claiming that both Arsenal and Juventus are highly interested.

Wolfsburg, however, are playing hardball, claiming that they simply will not sell Draxler and that they hope they can reach an amicable resolution.

“The VfL Wolfsburg is Julian Draxler not transfer in the current transfer window,” the club stated on their official website.

Are the club just trying to drive up the player’s asking price? It’s entirely possible. However, the issue is whether Arsenal are genuinely interested. Although Arsene Wenger is a fan, at the moment, we appear to have other priorities and we haven’t been seriously linked with Draxler in a while.

Only time will tell but I don’t see it happening.
