Espanyol have reportedly made contact with Arsenal over signing Mathieu Debuchy.
The right-back, who spent last season out on loan with Bordeaux, appears to be edging his way out of Arsenal. He’s made no secret of his desire to play regular football and after falling behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order, this simply isn’t possible with the Gunners.
Debuchy has been linked with a couple of clubs already during the transfer window, including his former loan club – Bordeaux – and Galatasaray, but it was reported that the Frenchman wanted to stay in London.

Espanyol appear to be the latest club linked with the defender, if reports in L’Equipe are to be believed. However, the La Liga club better get a move on if they’re going to sign him before the transfer window shuts.
Reports claim that the Spanish club is only interested in signing Debuchy on loan. Are Arsenal still asking for too much money, as others have claimed?
