Mo Marley’s England u19 side has been invited to play a tournament called the Women’s International Cup from the 18th to the 23rd of October in Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland will host the u19 finals in August 2017 and need to play friendlies against quality oppositions. That’s why, they have invited France, England and the USA to compete in a four nations tournament.
France and England have a bye for the Euros elite round in spring and therefore were available to play that tournament. The USA are a prestigious team and will provide a big challenge to the European teams.
The tournament program:
- England v USA and NIR v FRA 18/10
- FRA v USA and NIR v ENG 20/10
- FRA v ENG and NIR v USA 23/10
The 2016/17 u19 Euros will also act as a qualifier for the FIFA u20 2018 Women’s World Cup that will take place in France in Brittany around Rennes.
That World Cup will see an original organization with all the teams housed in the same place, the same way as the the Olympic village is set-up.
The u19 euros tournament is open to the girls born in 1998 and after.
